Please Slow Down! Please Travel With Caution in Student Drop Off and Pick Up Zones
We continue to get reports from families and staff of unsafe drivers in our parent pick up area after school. Please be aware of these important safety reminders.
After School Reminders
- Everyone must exercise patience.
- The outside lanes are for drivers waiting in their vehicles to pick up a student.
- The middle lane is to be left open at all times to exit after picking up a student.
- Drive slowly and with caution at all times.
- At the end of the school day, doors are open until 3:30 p.m., and students are to exit the building for the bus, their arranged transportation, Storm After School Program, or scheduled middle school activity.
- The staff parking lot is NOT a designated parent pick up/drop off location. Starting this week, the gate to this parking lot will be closed.
- DO NOT TAKE A LEFT INTO THE PICK UP ZONE FROM 1ST STREET. When traffic begins to back up on 1st Street, please travel to the east end of the campus, down to Bob Cross Park, turn around, and line up in the westbound lane to enter the safety zone taking a right turn off of 1st Street.
- See diagram below.
For more detailed information, please see the middle school handbook and past communications in the Back to School Newsletter August 7 and August 12 or the family newsletters from September 5 and September 8, 2025.
We appreciate your partnership and cooperation as we work together to keep our Drop Off/Pick Up Zone safe for all of us.
Before School Reminders
- We ask that students are not dropped off before the building opens at 7:35 a.m.
- If drop-off after the designated opening time isn’t an option, families may want to consider bus transportation.
